Challenges and conflict are a couple of words that come to mind for the Five of Swords.
Have you had a falling out, disagreement or conflict lately? Often times when this happens you walk away with a sense of sadness and loss.
You may be upset and resentful over the heated words you said and now wish you could take back. Even if you won the argument you realize that you have lost as much as your opponent. This battle has cost you trust, respect or dignity, and isolated you.
As you try to pick up the pieces and set the conflict behind you, you find it’s more difficult than you thought; others have lost faith in you and are keeping their distance.
The advice of the Five of Swords is to pick your battles. Choosing your battles wisely is a much better way of life than engaging in every disagreement.
Not only will it lead to a more peaceful existence, but your interpersonal relationships are likely to come out stronger.
Ask your Tarot cards: How can I lay down my sword and offer an apology? Or should I?

Happy Spring Equinox March 20. Happy Astrological New Year ! Happy New Moon In Aries March 21. Happy Pluto Into Aquarius (March 23)! Happy Saturn In Pisces (March 7). Happy….whew what next ?? Oh yeah Mars Into Cancer (March 25).
Today marks the Spring Equinox and that means we’re starting a new year, astrologically speaking. We’re stepping into the sign of Aries- opening the door to a new, confident kind of influence that can help you face even the toughest challenges head on! It’s also a great energy to work with if you’re starting a new project… I mean, Aries is definitely a “get-it-done”, big swings and confidence kind of energy! So, it should come as no surprise that the next four weeks will likely be FULL of optimism, manifestation and overflowing enthusiasm…
And that’s a great time to start a new chapter in YOUR life! Especially if you’re one of those who feel like your calendar New Year goals have maybe been kind of stagnant? Hard to achieve?? Not yielding the results you hoped you’d have by now??? To make the most of your tomorrows, you need to start creating today
This is pretty much the biggest week of 2023. It’s packing a punch with the Equinox, Aries New Moon (the first New Moon of the Astrological New Year) and the once-in-a-lifetime shift of Pluto into Aquarius. Which all means this is a week to take it slow, to honor the pace in which your body (not your mind) feels comfortable moving and if it all gets too much then rest (knowing that this is precious time for you to spend processing this energy). This is a week for revelations and considering what energy you want to bring in with the coming 12 months.
This is a week steeped in energy. Not only is it the first New Moon of the astrological new year, but it is also the week when Pluto moves into Aquarius…for the first time in 248 years – so yeah it’s BIG. This is a New Moon which is calling forth the fire of transformation. The type of spiritual fire which helps to burn through the illusion that has you feeling separate thanks to your physical incarnation – which by the essence of being in a body has you feeling as if you are different and individuated from all other people.
THE FIRST OF TWO ARIES NEW MOONS The coming month is dominated by Aries New Moons. The first, this one, a regular New Moon calling for you to lay down your intentions for the coming year, whereas the second will be a solar eclipse (more on that in April). The fact that you’ll be sitting in this energy means that you’re being called to spend time contemplating what you are ready to start (particularly if you’ve been putting things off or overthinking it all).
This is not a New Moon to run head first into things – which Aries is want to do. Rather (as it will be in challenge with its ruler Mars) it’s time to wait and feel into the timing of what you have planned. To rev your internal engine so to speak and then consider what you need to shift in order to move forward. This is the perfect energy to receive visions, to think through This New Moon will be at 0’30 of Aries, and in Vedic astrology in the sign of Pisces. The elements of both fire and water that live within you as well as in all mother nature, is what this is all about. This energy offers you the ability to be cleansed of old thoughts, beliefs and actions that came from ignorance as well as burn through karmic baggage.
In practical terms, this can show up as needing to confront the ego, to sit in the uncomfortable energy that has you reflecting on who you have been and ultimately coming to realize that by seeing this you are releasing it. It’s as if, in order for new energy to enter your life with this New Moon, you need to get conscious of how you are blocking yourself. This cleaning and clearing energy is supporting you in doing this.
Pluto Enters Aquarius As the slowest mover on the Zodiac, Pluto arguably has the biggest impact. From the period of November 2008 until 2024 Pluto has been carving us social structures that have restricted and stifled us. As we hit 2023 Pluto will be in Aquarius. Marking a significant shift in our lives over the next 2 decades he takes up residence there. LIBERTY, EQUALITY + FRATERNITY
Aquarius is the sign of the rebel, the innovator and the iconoclast. It is a sign that is concerned with the good of humanity – not just of the individual. It calls for us to create anew from a place where we remove the restrictions of old convention. So you can feel how the shift from Capricorn to Aquarius makes sense. While Pluto has been in Capricorn we have been doing serious shadow work around these so called conventions – be they governmental, institutional or corporate – get ready for the fall. Aquarius is the sign of big ideas and ideals. It believes in creating from scratch, and not with putting up with the restrictions which stop the progress particularly on behalf of the collective. Pluto entering Aquarius brings with it a calling – Power to the People. Or as the French Revolutionaries would say – Liberty (freedom), Egalite (equality), Fraternity (brotherhood).
This is something no one alive has experienced as Pluto takes around 248 years to orbit the sun. Although he is a slow mover the changes he creates are profound and very often alter the path we believed we were following. So let’s look at the last couple of times he was in Aquarius, to give us a flavor for what we can expect. This is, after all, the year of ‘Individual infinite possibilities. Make your wish and intention AFTER the magic moment of Tuesday March 21st at 1:23 pm EDT!
Last moment of note this week is March 25th, Saturday at 7:45 am EDT when Mars shifts into Cancer! Mars has been in Gemini affecting the mutable signs ( Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces and Virgo) since August 20th of 2022. Assertive Mars has an uphill battle ahead of him when he moves into the sensitive sign of Cancer. This warrior planet prefers to charge ahead, acting on instincts rather than weighing the consequences of its actions. Cancer is a Water sign concerned with emotional security and protection — not exactly a natural fit for aggressive Martian energy. So when impulsive Mars moves into the sign of Cancer, she douses his fiery flame, forcing him to slow down and move more carefully.
As an Ace, this Wands card brings you pure potential – this time in the spiritual, energetic realm. Ideas are flowing to you, motivating and inspiring you to pursue a new path. You are open to receiving new opportunities that align with your Higher Self. A whole world of possibility is available to you.
The Ace of Wands encourages you to follow your heart and live your passion. If you feel a strong pull towards a new project or path, but are questioning whether it will work, then this card gives you a gentle nudge to pursue your passion. You can always start out small, treating the project or idea as an experiment or trial. Then, if it feels good, keep doing it; and if it doesn’t, make adjustments and try again. Let your energy, dedication and motivation be your guides.
If you have been looking for a sign about whether this is the right project, then the Ace of Wands is a clear YES! The sprouting wand and the fertile landscape in the background are all positive indications that this idea has the potential to turn into something fulfilling and energizing. Use your creative energy and passion to take the first steps. Even if you prefer to plan out everything before you begin down a particular path, the Ace of Wands wants you to listen to your instincts and follow your gut. If it seems like a good idea, it probably is. So, start with a few fundamentals to get things rolling, and then continue to grow and develop your ideas through more complex activities later on. The important thing is that you act now rather than spending more time planning or researching.
Keep in mind, however, that the Aces represent potential but not guaranteed results. The Ace of Wands (or any Ace) is a seed that has yet to grow into something more substantial or sustainable. The opportunity on offer shows great promise, but it will be up to you to maximize it for the long term. See this card as the spark needed to fuel a massive fire, but remember that the flash itself is not enough to keep the flames burning.
The Ace of Wands may appear when you have an opportunity to grow on a personal or spiritual level. You may be interested in taking a class or investing in a course so you can follow your creative spirit. For example, you might enrol in a photography class, a Tarot course, or a self-improvement program. Trust that this experience will open you up to even more possibilities.
How will you harness the potential all around you? Ideas are flowing to you, motivating and inspiring you to pursue a new path. You are open to receiving new opportunities that align with your Higher Self.

Happy Full Moon In Virgo AND Saturn Leaving Aquarius Thank God/Dess (Reference mass shootings, blizzards, earthquakes, ice storms etc) and moving into its new home of Pisces.
On March 7th, 2023 we have a Full Moon at 16° Virgo. Every Full Moon is an opportunity to integrate the energy of 2 opposite signs. At a Full Moon, the Moon and the Sun are opposite each other. Since we are in Pisces season (so the Sun is in Pisces), the Moon can only be in the opposite sign, Virgo. We can only reach the potential of a sign if we employ the qualities of the opposite sign. We can only birth Pisces qualities through Virgo. Pisces feel their way through the world. But when things get too “mushy” we need Virgo. Virgo brings order into chaos and comes with practical approaches to help us navigate through the sea of change.
Saturn is the planet of karma, past lives and lessons learned. What lessons are now in your life that are repeating? Saturn is sitting in Pisces for the next 3 years. Virgo is opposite Pisces and this full moon in this sign will make sure you know the lessons you should learn.
Full Moon In Virgo, Saturn In Pisces
Virgo’s solution to our never ending, existential Piscean crisis may be totally out of the box (Full Moon trine Uranus). But it will give us that extra push to move forward (Full Moon square Mars). Less than one hour after the Full Moon in Virgo, Saturn moves into Pisces. We know that change is inevitable. We can feel it in the air. A new chapter of our life is about to begin.
The Sabian symbol of the Full Moon in Virgo is “A Volcanic Eruption”. The Sabian symbol speaks about the importance of releasing the old, before inviting the new. With Saturn at 29° 59’ Aquarius, minutes away from ingressing into Pisces, the Full Moon in Virgo will remind us that change is an inevitable part of life.
To make space for the new, everything must be released. 100%.
Change is not easy. But real change only happens when we start from a zero state. That’s why sometimes we need something of the magnitude of a volcanic eruption. The old must be burned to ashes. Even if we have no idea yet where we’re headed towards. “Change” doesn’t necessarily mean you quit your job tomorrow and buy a one-way ticket to the Amazonian jungle. Change is not what we do. What we do is a reaction to change. Change always starts from within. Sometimes change is an epiphany around why we’ve been stuck in the same old pattern. Other times it’s a moment of clarity: “THIS is what’s actually happening”. And other times it’s a decision “I will no longer walk this path”.
At the Full Moon in Virgo, ask yourself: “Where is there an inevitable exodus in my life?”
Pisces…. a water sign, is the last constellation of the zodiac. It’s symbolized by two fish swimming in opposite directions, representing the constant division of Pisces’s attention between fantasy and reality. As the final sign, Pisces has absorbed every lesson — the joys and the pains, the hopes and the fears — learned by all of the other signs. This makes these fish the most psychic, empathetic, and compassionate creatures of the astrological wheel. With such immense sensitivity, Pisces can easily become swallowed by emotions and must remember to stay grounded in the material realm (appropriately, Pisces rules the feet).
Those with this sun sign must be wary of mirages: These impressionable fish prefer wearing rose-colored glasses to addressing problems, which can earn Pisces a reputation for being flaky or delusional. This water sign should remember that problems can’t be solved by swimming away. Willful ignorance never makes conflict disappear: It only gives it the chance to grow.
A mutable sign, Pisces effortlessly adapts to their surroundings. These visionary fish have unparalleled access to the collective unconscious through their clairvoyance and make incredible artists and creatives. Kind and gentle, they’re invigorated by shared experiences of music and romance. Any relationship with mystical Pisces is guaranteed to involve deep spiritual exploration.
The most important impact of Saturn in Pisces to highlight is the fact that Saturn is the Lord of Karma, while Pisces is the Zodiac sign that rules karma. This means the transit of Saturn in Pisces is going to be extremely karmic, just full of karmic energy, and we may have to dig into the karmic sludge and work through karmic baggage, old karmic patterns, and have a deeper understanding of our karmic lessons.
Pisces rules spirituality, so we can learn more lessons around our spiritual selves, and what it is we believe in spiritually. For some, this may mean ditching what you’ve thought you believed for a long time, and coming to the understanding that it was hollow and not true to who you really are. For others, this may mean becoming more invested in what you believe, if you feel it’s the right thing for you.
In general, we may be more practical in spiritual matters overall though, and may want to ground our spiritual energy.
Pisces is the sign of compassion and empathy, so Saturn in Pisces can force us to confront issues around this. Where we’ve lacked compassion and empathy can suffer greatly, and cause us to suffer as punishment. We have to learn this lesson, and develop a better emotional understanding of the plight of others. On the flip side, Pisces also rules boundaries, so those with too much compassion and empathy may have to learn the power of healthy boundaries. If you struggle with saying no, if you’re a doormat, if you’re always being taken advantage of, this can come back to bite you in a big way, and you have to learn how to protect yourself in a healthy way.
Pisces is ruler of the arts and imagination, so this is a highly creative sign, and Saturn in Pisces may push us to be more practical and productive with it. This would be excellent for anyone who already works in the arts or does something creative, and we may see more people flock to do this professionally. Pisces is the very last sign of the Zodiac, so we are at the end of a cycle. This can be a time of major endings, and we see many things from the past finally being resolved and coming to a close that have been building for some time.

Following your wildest impulses comes naturally to you, Aries. But are you able to hear your inner voice over the blazing cry of your passions? Over the next few years, Saturn is set on helping you hone your intuition by turning your attention inward. Whether or not you consciously realize it, you’re wrapping up some major karmic cycles and clearing yourself of spiritual baggage. This is deep inner work! You might find it challenging to verbalize the subtle soul-level shifts you’re experiencing, but working through it in solitude or with a therapist can be empowering. Focus on prioritizing and protecting your peace, even when life in the fast lane is calling your name.
Taurus
You already know how valuable your time is, Taurus, but you may soon find yourself being extra selective about the plans you make and the company you keep. Saturn’s hitting your house of friendships and community for the next few years, which is prompting you to reevaluate your social life and potentially tighten your circle. It’s important to surround yourself with people who inspire you to be your best self and a squad that’s supportive of your hopes and wishes—so now’s a time to start building that kind of community in your life, even if you have to do it from the ground up. Don’t waste your time on a crew or a cause if it doesn’t align with your vibe.
Gemini
It’s time to get serious about your career and check your imposter syndrome at the door, Gemini. With Saturn entering your public-facing tenth house, the next few years will bring the building blocks for a major glow-up in your professional life. But that doesn’t mean your empire will build itself! You’re learning to get real about your accomplishments and shortcomings alike, all of which will help you step into your role as an authority figure. While your airy and mutable energy gives you your fast-thinking Gemini edge, slowing down now can help you build a more intentional foundation for your future career. After all, great success doesn’t usually come overnight! By the end of this transit, you’ll feel a lot more established and confident about taking up space in your field.
Cancer
Prepare to totally overhaul what you thought your core beliefs were, Cancer. Saturn is hitting your philosophical ninth house over the next few years, which could catalyze some serious paradigm shifts and perspective checks. Letting go of old ideas isn’t easy, especially for a nostalgic water baby like you—but it’ll help you develop a more nuanced and resonant point of view. Don’t underestimate your wisdom! It may also be time to buckle down and finally get that degree or professional certificate you’ve been putting off, or jump into a new field of study entirely. Focus on furthering your education or otherwise gaining experience doing something meaningful to you. By the end of this transit, you’ll move through the world differently.
Leo
It’s time to deal with all those skeletons that have been swept into your closet, Leo—because out of sight doesn’t necessarily mean out of mind. Saturn will be hitting one of the most vulnerable parts of your chart, so you’ll be extra cognizant of situations in your life that make you feel dependent or out of control. This could involve an emotionally-enmeshed relationship that’s weighing on your heart, or a financial debt that’s weighing on your bank account. Challenge yourself to face these sensitive issues head-on, no matter how uncomfortable, and get real about your attachments, entanglements and power struggles. By setting strong boundaries, you can start freeing yourself of some under-the-surface baggage.
Virgo
The next few years could be a make or break period for your relationships, Virgo, so prepare to get real about interpersonal dynamics and desires. Now’s a time to start figuring out exactly who and what you actually want to commit to—in business and pleasure alike. You may want to level up the standards you hold for your partners, or challenge yourself to step up and take more responsibility for your own actions. If you’re dating, you’ll probably be more discerning about your lovers and seek more stability. If you’re linked up, don’t be surprised if you take things to a deeper level of commitment during this transit and move into a more serious phase.
Libra
Time to get yourself organized and revitalized, Libra. Prioritizing your mind/body/spirit connection is officially a non-negotiable now that Saturn is entering your health and maintenance sector—and balancing a healthy lifestyle with your day-to-day responsibilities will be your challenge to conquer. You’re learning how to better care for yourself, which is why it’s important to cut any unnecessary and stressful fluff from your routine. You have no time for BS right now! So no matter how busy life gets, remember that your wellness comes first. Drink enough water, get enough exercise, and throw some veggies on your plate once in a while.
Scorpio
You’re a naturally creative soul, Scorpio, and Saturn is making sure you put your talents to good use over the next few years. Now’s a time to get more disciplined about your passion projects and work through any sense of fear you feel around authentic self-expression. If you want to breathe life into something new and really shine your light into the world, it takes more than a magically elusive spark of inspiration—it takes hard work, diligent focus and a strong voice, too. Focus on developing confidence in yourself and working through any shreds of imposter syndrome that keep you from living up to your true potential. Pushing through these limitations may be challenging, but on the other side of this transit lies a greater sense of creative freedom.
Sagittarius
You may have to resist the Sagittarian urge to deal with problems by running off into the sunset—because Saturn will be cozying up in your home and family sector over the next few years, rendering its presence inescapable (sorry!). Domestic duties could suddenly take a front seat, prompting you to step up for family members and get your private affairs in order. Deep-seated attachments or challenging childhood memories could come up during this time, too. On a more literal level, you may feel the need to downsize your living space or embrace a more minimalist lifestyle at home. Whether it’s emotionally or physically, clearing old clutter and lightening your load will ultimately grant you the freedom your wild heart desires.
Capricorn
Saturn is your ruling planet, Capricorn, so you’re no stranger to its stern and serious energy. But with your ringed ruler hitting the communication sector of your chart for the next few years, you may feel extra critical of your own ideas or self-conscious of how you express yourself to others. Work through the discomfort! You’re slowly honing your unique voice and interacting with the world in a more meaningful way. You may find yourself being a bit more discerning about what you say, how you say it, and who you share it with—and that’s a good thing. By the end of this transit, you’ll be able to speak with so much more authority and confidence.
Aquarius
Saturn is your traditional cosmic ruler, Aquarius—and this ultra-responsible planet has been in your sign for the past few years, teaching you to take yourself more seriously. But now it’s time to focus on your resources and learn some lessons on how to make the most of what you’ve got. If you’ve been irresponsible or frivolous about spending, this is an important time to create a budget and start planning for your financial future. Security will feel especially important to you now, so get in touch with your core values and figure out how you really want to spend your time, money, and energy. Making wiser investments in all of those areas is key.
Pisces
Saturn is all about tough love, which isn’t always fun for a fantasy-lovin’ cosmic fish like you, Pisces. But with the ringed planet entering your sign for the first time in nearly three decades, you’ll have to kiss any sugarcoating goodbye. Over the next few years, you’re getting more real with yourself and your truth than ever before, and it’ll be a truly transformative experience. Prepare to peel back the layers of your identity to find out what’s really underneath. That said, it can feel isolating to undergo so much personal restructuring at once—as if you’re outgrowing everything around you. But trust this process and remember that growing pains fade with time.
