Summer Solstice 2021 & Happy Full Moon
Summer Solstice 2021
The longest day and the shortest night are upon us! The 2021 Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere is Sunday, June 20th at 11:32pm EDT. The Solstice is a moment, a passing, a turning point from one chapter to another. And, what a chapter it has been! And yet, the Solstice invites to pause and reflect on the good that is all around. The word “solstice” literally means “sun standing” – the day when the sun appears to stop moving in the sky. It is on this day when the sun and earth align in stillness. The Summer Solstice invites light to shine bright into all creation, illuminating the beauty that is all around.
We are invited to do the same as we mark the beginning of summer in the northern hemisphere, the season of light. This year, we were moved to create a beautiful and inspiring poem to remind us all that beauty and inspiration are all around – right here, right now.
Where do you see beauty?
What are you ready to leave behind?
What do you hope to bring into form?
And then there’s that full moon in Capricorn coming up !
Summer Solstice 2021
During a supermoon, the moon will appear larger than normal, like a big disco ball lighting up the sky. The giant moon peaks at 2:40 pm ET, but of course, that will be daylight for most of us. However, you can still see it after sunset in the southeastern sky. Sadly, the moon won’t actually look strawberry pink, but it will have a golden hue if you catch it during the first 20 minutes after sunset.
What a Full Moon in Capricorn Means
Capricorn is a misunderstood sign. Sometimes people assume it’s a sign of all work and no play, but the truth is that Capricorn embodies the “work hard, play hard” mentality. It’s true that these sea goats are often hard-working professionals, which is why this full moon may bring great monetary or professional news, so circle Thursday, June 24 in your calendar. Capricorn is also represented by the Devil card in the tarot, which can refer to consensually enjoying your vices, whether that means foregoing all your professional responsibilities and taking a long weekend after a period of hard work or trying a new kink in the bedroom.
How to Use the Full Strawberry Moon to Your Advantage
Capricorn’s ruling planet, strict daddy Saturn, is currently retrograde in progressive Aquarius. This retrograde asks us to look towards the future. Full moons are powerful times of manifestation, meaning that during this time, our dreams can turn into reality. During this full moon, you may receive a raise or a job offer, especially if it’s something that you’ve been working for. This lunation is all about results. Even if you don’t receive good professional news, this full moon is a potent time to ask for it. Meditate on your worth and use Capricorn’s energy to ask for the money or recognition that you deserve.

Because Capricorn is a responsible earth sign, this supermoon is also perfect for planting roots. That could mean saying yes to a new job or settling into a new relationship. In matters of love, this lunation is ideal for letting go of nostalgia and anchoring yourself in the present. Consider writing down a gratitude list with the full moon in view, and then go let your partner or crush know how much that they mean to you.
Oh, and extra points if you eat some strawberries!
